Bishop Larkin Catholic School is a diocesan managed school in the Diocese of Saint Petersburg operating under the direction and authority of the Most Reverend Bishop Gregory L. Parkes.   The mission of Diocese of Saint Petersburg Catholic Schools and Centers is to provide a faith-filled community where students can grow spiritually, academically, and socially. Schools reflect the richness, diversity and strength of our Catholic church.

Bishop Larkin Catholic School is a mission of the Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus congregation. 

The Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus are known as devoted teachers and have a reputation for competent educational management at all levels. The Handmaids form the whole person, in morals, discipline, virtues and academics.

Daily Practices

A Full Circle Practice

Daily student led school-wide classroom prayer begins and ends our day. Students are taught that there are many times when the Bible teaches us that prayer makes a difference. We believe it is one of the ways in which we cooperate with God’s will.

Living Our Faith

Weekly Liturgy

School Masses are celebrated weekly in the Centrum of Saint James the Apostle Catholic Church.  Holy Days of Obligation and special events are also celebrated. Responsibility for preparation of the liturgy is rotated among the school’s classes and students actively participate in the mass.

Traditions

Our students participate in annual traditions such as the Living Stations of the Cross, Ash Wednesday  Mass, May Crowning and Christmas pageant. 

Sacramental Prep

We support our students preparation for Sacraments in partnership with our parish Faith Formation programs.
